the hill, ubud

Scope: Architecture & Interior Design (90-key Suites & 17-key Villas)

Sitting on a narrow spur just before the meeting point of two rivers, The Hill Ubud looks out onto padi fields and forests.

Nature takes Form
Inspired by nature’s architectural wonder, the elegantly cantilevered Shelf Mushroom, the structural form of The Hill is light and takes on the organic form of a curve – a direct response to the sloping natural terrain.

Natural Curves
Surrounded by nature, the extraordinary site welcomes you with a small cluster of majestically beautiful flame trees. As you enter The Lobby, the gentle curve of the bowed roof, you feel a sense of lightness as sunlight streams through the pillars placed in a random rhythm, opening up into the rich green expanse of nature beyond. Bamboo strips clad the ceiling, creating a structural quality to the space.

Garden of Wonders
Organic structures grow out of the plateau, forming the various areas of The Hill. From the gentle twist of the All Day Dining area to the green ribbon pulled from the ground and twisted into a structure housing the Specialty Restaurant, to the acorn cones of the Spa.

Green Space
Each suite is expansive and features large bath tubs that look out into the lush green foliage of the surrounding forests. Generously wide verandas and personal pools elevated high above the slope provide both maximum privacy and breath-taking views.
