an urban oasis
Six Battery Road - An Urban Oasis
In an area surrounded by concrete, lies a sanctuary of sunlight, clean air and lush greenery.
At Six Battery Road is the first and largest vertical indoor garden in Singapore's Central Business District. At 2,000 square feet, the soaring vertical garden is populated by a rich array of about 120 plant species, sourced locally and from other parts of Asia.
Natural sunlight streaming through warm wood louvres of an extensive skylight floods the environment, and the ambience of the lobby transforms in tandem with the position of the sun.
Reduce Reuse Recycle
In line with the green initiative, eco.id repurposed the feature Onyx wall that was the highlight of the lobby, using panels of the precious translucent material at the entrance to the refurbished lift lobby, as well as at concierge counters.
Setting Benchmarks
A landmark in the Central Business District, Six Battery Road is situated along the iconic Singapore River, facing some of Singapore's best-loved historical landmarks including the Cavanagh Bridge, the Asian Civilisations Museum and Victoria Concert Hall.
The updates, designed by eco.id, were part of a refurbishment that saw the skyscraper receive the Building and Construction Authority's (BCA) coveted Green Mark Platinum Award in 2010 for an Existing Non-Residential Building, raising the benchmark for energy efficiency and ecological sustainability in the Central Business District.
